- On August 16, 1889, Patsy's father Samuel Lawrence Hensley was born.
- In August 1956, Patsy and Charlie attended The National Country Music
Championship.
- On Aug 5, 1957, Patsy's first LP, "Patsy Cline" (Decca DL-8611) was
released.
- On August 12, 1957, the single "Three cigarettes in an ashtray" / "A
stranger in my arms" (Decca 30406) was released.
- The Decca single "I can see an angel" / "Never no more" (30706) was
released on August 18, 1958.
- Patsy's and Charlie's daughter Julie was born on Aug 25, 1958, at the
Winchester Memorial Hospital.
- In August 1959, Patsy, Charlie and Julie moved to Nashville.
- On August 1, 1960, the single "Crazy dreams" / "There he goes" (Decca
31128) was released.
- August 1961 was a productive month for Patsy. Four recording sessions
took place that month, for a total of 14 songs. The most significant is of
course the one that took place on Aug 21, in which only one song was recorded:

- On Aug 6, 1962, the LP "Sentimentally Yours" (Decca DL-4282/DL-74282) was
released.
- On August 5, 1963, the single "Faded love" / "Blue moon of Kentucky"
(Decca 31522) was released.
- On Aug 5, 1968, the single "You made me love you" / "Too many secrets"
(Decca 25738) was released.
- MCA released the single "Crazy arms" / "Pick me up on your way down"
(60102) on Aug 6, 1973.
- On Aug 1, 1980, MCA released the single "Always" / "I'll sail my ship
alone" (41303).
